Martinstown playground and wildlife area is part of the refurbishment and development of five existing play parks as part of the Council’s ‘Out to Play’ Strategy 2020-2024. The designs of the play park was developed following a community consultation process which helped shape this fantastic provision for children of all abilities.
The new play area involved the extension of the existing play area with new inclusive play equipment, a space net, trim trail, play unit and tractor and trailer, this playground caters for toddlers up to teens. The play area was completed with new rubber surfacing with graphics. The enhanced wildlife area includes bat boxes, bird boxes and squirrel sculpture. The refurbishment has improved the parks quality, user play value and accessibility for all ages and abilities.
Funding secured by Council through DAERA/Dept for Communities Small Settlement Fund has enabled this investment in our rural community.
